Giving back to the Community

The Richfield Civic Organization is comprised of Richfield residents who are proud of our community and its small town charm, which we work hard to maintain. We sponsor the annual Richfield Community Garage Sale, annual Richfield Tree Lighting Ceremony, Earth Day Event, Corny 5k Family Fun Run, and biennial Richfield Candidates Night. Our organization offers a yearly scholarship to a Richfield resident high school graduating senior and offers assistance to local families in need. The Richfield Civic Organization is dedicated to the community of Richfield and its people.

Thanksgiving Food Donations

Every year we give out Giant Eagle gift cards to a family in need of groceries for Thanksgiving.

Revere High School Scholarships

Every year the 12th grade students of Revere High School who are Richfield residents can apply to receive a scholarship. This $500 award is given based on service performed within the community, school, and church during the student's high school years.

EVENTS

Richfield Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Mayor of Richfield helps bring in the holidays by lighting up the Richfield Christmas tree and the other displays in the town center. Once Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive, we welcome everyone to join us at Masonic Hall -- where we provide music, laughter and, most importantly, cookies and hot cocoa.

Earth Day

Every year we have a different theme and create educational experiences so that we can all learn how to help the environment.

Garage Sale

We host the Richfield Community Garage Sale the first Saturday in June from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m every year. The garage sale extends from the city center to individual homes located throughout Richfield -- and there is a wide variety of items being sold.

Candidates Night

Every other year we host Candidates Night. Individuals running for local political office (Village Council, Township Trustee, and Mayor) will answer questions from the audience and share their position on local issues. Through this event, we help the community to stay informed and have their voices heard.

Corny 5k & Family Trail Run

With the aid of The Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve and local sponsors, we put on a 5K to help financially support our efforts to assist our community. It was such a fun event and was great for both serious runners and families. We look forward to doing this again on the Saturday before Richfield Community Day -- which will be August 9th in 2025.

Collecting Revere Wear

Donate your gently used Revere and other spirit wear (collegiate and professional). This includes shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, pants, hats, etc.). We will be selling everything (at greatly reduced prices) on Garage Sale Day in the new pavilion on the green. All proceeds support scholarships and future events.
